A doctor of literature
who writes about murder.

Nadine Farghaly holds a doctorate in American Studies and is, against all reasonable expectations, the deputy headmistress of a private school in Bavaria โ€” where she teaches English from 5th grade through the A-Level. The authorities are aware of this and have so far raised no objections.

"They let me work with children. I find this remarkable. The children seem fine."

When not shaping young minds or architecting fictional homicides, she can be found travelling to unreasonable destinations, sampling fine wine with professional focus, and eating delicious things in quantities that would concern a reasonable person. She is currently watching Magnificent Century for the fourth time. This is, she maintains, entirely intentional.

At home: a dog of enthusiastic convictions and a cat of withering judgment. She navigates the world as a neurodivergent bisexual woman with rheumatoid arthritis โ€” all of which gives her extraordinary material, excellent perspective, and a complicated relationship with stairs. She spends what's left of her time with the people she loves, eating things she shouldn't, and being quietly surprised that this is her life.

Nadine also publishes academic writing โ€” her scholarly work is currently what you'll find on Amazon. Murder He Bakes is her first work of fiction โ€” and for it, she is taking the traditional road, querying literary agents one carefully crafted submission at a time.
